First of all I don't see how these controllers could cost anywhere near that much. Maybe they do cost a lot for some reason that I can't fathom which is why the retail for a lot, but Nintendo is definitely making a profit selling them separately, there's no way they cost $90 to make.
Secondly, this thread has devolved into "hey they should make the switch another failure like the Wii U". Seriously people, you want Nintendo to take out all of the things that make the Switch marketable?!?! And have to increase costs by producing multiple version of the same system, each version much less marketable than what they currently have. Not to mention if you did some of these things you'd have to take out motion control and hd rumble which would mean you are changing the communication between user and system (inputs/outputs) for some versions of the system which means games that rely on those things would no longer be playable with all versions. So you'd have a very confusing group of Switch products for consumers to try to figure out and then even worse you'd split up the software available. Your suggestions are the absolute worst thing Nintendo could do. All because maybe the controllers cost a lot to make?!!
Get real people.
