Yea I dont think Nintendo will drop the price this year unless they are forced to...

Nintendo has vowed to never lose money again on hardware... So even if a price drop is imperative, they won't do it if they are going to lose money!

Nintendo lost money for the first time in their history with 3DS in  2011 owing the urgent huge price drop in August, 249-169$...

Even though manufacturing cost still had a big difference with the new retail price, Nintendo was paying a high sum of royalties for 3D effect use... 3DS hardware became profitable in July 2012 with 3DS XL release at 199$.

They  lost money again with wii u ( 2012- first half of  2014 ).

They didn't cut the price, but that happened by the reason of  the excessive dead stock of white 8g wii u ( 299$) and its clearance ( it was being sold even at 160$ without a game in early 2014 ).   That version was discontinued in 2013 and the black wii u 32gb version price fall from 349$ to 299$... The majority was preferring the black wii u with the higher memory capacity, despite costing significantly more.

Wii u was in dire need for a price drop yet again Nintendo never did it ( They noted in an ir event... That  they took a lesson from 3DS and the won't slash wii u price ), even though they're were very opened with price reductions on previous consoles...
