I'd like to see the full context of the interview, but it makes sense to me. The game is one of the most highly reviewed games ever made; I would be absolutely baffled if they decided to drop this formula.
Still, hoping they can find a way to balance both styles. I like the music themes and massive dungeons as well as the open world freedom, and one doesn't necessarily rule out the other.
