My first time SEEING a Nintendo game being played was watching my dad play Duck Hunt (which was just for him) when I was four years old back in 1986. My first experience actually PLAYING a Nintendo game came shortly after that when my dad sat me down to play the original Super Mario Bros. I liked it okay, but it didn't catch on with me as a real hobby. It was just something that he and I played together on occasion when he suggested it (which was pretty much when he couldn't come up with anything else for us to do together). The following year, I tried a little Ghosts n' Goblins (another game my dad had), but found it a little scary (still four years old!) and too hard for me at that age. It wasn't really until I played Metroid in the summer of 1987 (five years old now) that I really got hooked on video games. The exploratory nature of the game made a big difference to me. That was what really separated it in my mind from the other two games.
