Is like graphics, it used to be very important but now being critical about graphics is seem as a bad thing. |
It's not a new thing. Just people are more aware of people like this because of the internet. More exposure and easier to post opinions so seems like more. I remember people were like this in the SNES vs Genesis era. It was like this PS1 vs N64. Back when we argued about bits instead of flops these days some dude going on and on about the upcoming Xbox in 2001 how it was 256 bits vs PS2 and Dolphin measley 128 and hoped they failed. Since N64 era I have seen people saying Nintendo needs to fail to go 3rd party and X console/hand held will be their last. While Intellivision might be the first to say LULZ Atari gwafx sux in their ads. I don't think people caught onto that until BLAST PROCESSING..even tho SNES aside from CPU blew Genesis out of the water in every way. Intellivision started it,SEGA made it memorable and Sony and MS made it the deciding factor. I never fall for flops or bits or whatever anymore. Personally just after the library. Few hours ago went from playing my HD PS4 game to my glorious 320P game on Genesis in the other room on a CRT. Power matters to an extent but yeah not the end all. Silly people act like it does.
I hope all 3 do well and I REALLY hope MS does more to get a more diverse library. Competition is good.
