I went to a decent public school, and i can assure you they do have classes for the real world. Money management, business, health, etc. Problem is some people prioritize music classes and/or AP classes instead.
I took a personal money management class, and it was really useful. It helped me learn about a lot of things that Iwill soon start to deal with.
