Every game and their mother gets hyped to death these days. But when you are around a little longer, you saw Evolve falling off a cliff long before release. It isn't even the worst example imo. Titanfall was way worse if you ask me. That game was hyped by Microsoft like there's no tomorrow, got called Game of the Generation and all that silly stuff. All although it was quite obvious that the game was lacking seriously in content. Nobody cared, everybody hyped.
Oh, and just to make it clear, both of those games may be good games and all, but both just didn't live up to expectations. In both cases I predicted it long before, in both cases I got called a fanboy. In case of Titanfall I think I was even moderated, but I can't quite remember.
Anyway, simple rule for now and future use: Don't believe the hype. Except when it's GTA or Zelda or something. =P
