It was working, but they gave up too early. Building a Japanese repertoire takes TIME. It wasn't a one year thing. They would need to funnel money throughout a whole generation to start making inroads...

15 years is a lot of time.

Unless PlayStation goes away (which won't happen) there will be no point on it as it has been up until now.

Microsoft could build some japanese studios and actually try to push it, but they know it won't be worth it, all the money hatting from last gen with a cheap console was the best attempt they'll ever make, and it still sold almost 10x less than the competitors there, and even on the soil they were doubling the PS in sales, they couldn't find more audience for it there as well.

People that like those games are not people that buy XBOX, so unless there is a need (no other way, as with PS going away as said before), they won't succeed, both devs and consumers know where it'll be.

It literally take 8 years. Microsoft dropped support after five. Now, whether they want to bother or not is none of my bsness, yet the easiest way to tear down this wall like Reagan did asks only that MS allows Japanese devs to release their games through XBL only, since the physical runs are what consumes money. Porting costs are no longer high.

I do like some of those games, and I don't like Sony. I should be able to have them without having them...
