3DS is pretty low performance though, development costs would be much lower and the games are hardly technical showcases. Those games would often be more comparable to android and ios games that often sell for pence. Some 3DS games are 1Gb (i.e. 128MB in size) too so costs are lower again, they are generally smaller. However that said it is what Nintendo believes will be an acceptable retail price, they will always push for the best profit margin. It's clear Nintendo wants to push the Switch as a home console as well as portable probably to justify the increase in price in software. You could look at your argument another way and state is it the huge costs of cartridges that make android/ios level performance games so expensive on DS and 3DS?
Remember many android games now are hugely impressive and comparable to Switch performance easily.
