From Zorg's own post above ... Wii U was at 2.17 million sell through on Dec. 29th, basically one month post launch. If they had only shipped 2 million, they would have had shortages. 

whats your point? we know Switch has been breaking personal records in many countries and continues to sell out. For all we know it could have sold 3 million or even more in the first month if the stock were there while we know Wii U couldnt do more than 2.2 million in a month.

edit: also if the reports of Nintendo bumping up production are true than Nintendo has increased their launch month shipments to 2.5 million
