i have no idea about mk, but dont talk about brawl in that way. seriously, it is barely related to melee. the two games are just so radically different that you should probably not even call brawl a sequel. i personally like melee better and i have a friend who almost refuses to play brawl because of melee.
that being said, i think the reason is price at least for melee. that game is still expensive seven years after release. and just to back this up, he has ssx3 which is pretty much all gameplay and the wii has blur. there are other wii sequels from that list, but all are games with story or are very different (ie ww having little story, but tp is very different)
