I mean, a guy going out of his way murder people in whatever way he likes seems pretty violent to me. Heart attacks weren't the only way people were killed.

For something that covers such dark material, it's not surprising to me for it to include darker things.

Yeah, but for me the usual Hollywood action/violence is the opposite of "dark", it's just the same checklist box for almost every american movie/series ("Bam, explosion ! Pew, pew, guns!"). The psychological side of the original work is a lot darker than any usual Hollywood violence. Like in the teaser, the scene when they're falling from a collapsing ferris wheel... What's the point?

 

A thriller turned into an action movie isn't "including darker things" IMO, it's the complete opposite: making it flashier and dumber for the average american TV viewer to like it. We'll see how it will turn out in the end...
