Well, ofc not. That won't happen regardless of its quality. 

1. People will actually watch it.

2. It's going to be drastically different the original so people will go into it wanting it to fail.

Well, Death Note is originally a thriller based on mind games and psychology.

If Netflix wanted to make a movie "full of nudity, swearing and violence" like they said they're making, maybe they shouldn't use the Death Note name. A Transformers-like movie using the "The lord of the rings" name would surely be poorly received too...
