Do you even know what was the price of fat ds at launch and what's ds lite at launch which was released after two years? Or Have you forgot fat ds and think that ds lite was the first ds, which indeed was followed by a more powerful and more expensive revision but after almost three years!

According to wikipedia (in order of revisions), the price was: 149 - 149 - 169 - 179.

@Miyamoto... Delio must expect that all 3DS owner will easily buy a switch at 299$ and a Mario kart 8 port for 50$, when they have bought a 3DS for 169-199$ and Mario kart 7 for 40$... Sure!

I never said the transition will be easy or swift, nor implied it. What i said was that if the product is appealing enough, price won't be a priority - as it clearly wasn't for PS4.

Also, Switch started at a higher price point. Second, do you really expect them to cut 100-150 dollars in a year and lose all price leverage so they can cover for 3DS death?
They will have more than enough time to reach that mark.

Then sorry for my subtly aggresive style... It's not you fault it seems, it's wikipedia's! Where did you see it?

DS lite costed 20$ less than FAT DS...( NA / basically the USA) 129$

When we talk about prices, we must refer to biggest  core video game market of the world!

North America[edit]

The Nintendo DS Lite was released on June 11, 2006, for US$129.99 in the United States (as of June 2011, $99.99), and CA$149.99 in Canada.[14]
