Incorrect. 1M milestone announxement is only bad if it happens too long after launch. By your logic, sales announcement shouldn't happen until the 100M mark is reached.

You're also forgetting that Sony announced 1M sold and we all know that positive news was never lacking for the PS4 since it's reveal.

So, your logic is flawed.

Did you forget that I gave you examples of important milestones in a recent post? This "by your logic" stuff doesn't fly.

Two things about your Sony example:

1. The company was hit by bad news after bad news, so the PS4 was a much needed success story as other divisions of Sony were closed down or under consideration to get shut down. Even the PS branch itself had suffered big setbacks with the PS3 (lost billions) and PSV (led to inevitable exit from the handheld console market, already clear in 2013). On the other hand, Nintendo's stock has increased by over 100% since one year ago, so confidence in Nintendo hasn't been an issue.

2. Since it's known that Sony sold 1m PS4s at launch in one country, how would it look good for Nintendo to announce 1m worldwide? Once again, it would reek of desperation to announce such a milestone. There's nothing special about it.

1. You're talking about stuff that happened years (while forgetting that games like Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us countered those bad news) before the PS4 was releaved. Since the reveal and more so since the E3 show it's been nothing but positive news surrounding PlayStation. The Vita was never going to shadow the PS4's success and never did.

In the meantime people are still want Nintendo going mobile which is what's driving their stock, not their hardware. And the same time as the WiiU failed miserably so they're desperate for good news surrounding their hardware sales and yet nothing.

2. So you're saying that they haven't announced anything because it's trailing behind the PS4?
