3DS XL was just a bigger version of the anywise light and small 3DS...
Also, remember 3DS costed 249$ at launch and because it wasn't selling well, Nintendo had slash its price by 80$ to skyrocket its sales... So 3DS xl essentially is cheaper than og 3DS!
Some of you may ask why 3DS xl hadn't the same price with og 3ds after its price decrease! Nintendo was losing money on hardware after the price drop, for the first time in their history, thus they released the 199$ 3DS XL after 1 year and half to reverse that.
