I don't know if its a proven sucess. Especially if its supposed to sell Wii U+ 3DS numbers as some claim it is supposed to be a portable while beeing a home console.
That actually means that it isn't a sucess so far. It should have sold 600k+ in Japan week one to be comparable.
As for Nintendo... they will continue to be themselves. They won't change. The swtich will be another WiiU.
Your/our only hope is for them to either stick to portables or just go third party.
