I think they said it had something to do with textures or lighting or something remotely technical and that it wasn't some sort of anti-white campaign (although the ryder twins look pretty white to me)
They did say that the patch would not be coming out on day 1 which is a shame. It's the most basic skin tone, how can you not have it optimized to your game?
