There's a laundry list of areas in which the Switch could easily improve in terms of user feel and general sense of luxury as a consumer product. And Soundwave is probably right that the R&D department are testing a range of components for use in a future revision.
It was absolutely the same with the first model of the DS. And to some extent the 3DS (I'm thinking about the way too cheap cameras here mostly.) First the constellation of product functionality proves its market viability, and THEN we can talk general product improvement. But for the launch unit, going cheap has its advantages.
If Switch keeps selling well, I'm expecting a sleek looking revision by summer 2018. Sort of like the DSlite. Not sooner, but not much later either.
