Time for what I believe is an even more brutal story.
In the Middle East, cats and dogs are (unfortunately) abused. You think women are a big problem here. but it is animal rights which are a bigger problem in my eyes. Anyways, here's a messed up story.
Dog at stake:
I was having tea with my family. Nothing too bad. It was nothing more than a typical day. As I was drinking, I heard a loud "THUMP" on the metal roof that covers the outside section of the apartment. At first, I thought it was the kids above us throwing garbage again, but it was more than that- I heard a dog's voice.
It was one of the few dogs I saw in the area, so I didn't expect it. I thought it was just a toy dog at first, until I heard a bunch of kids screaming (along with the dog). What the hell is going on?
I walk out to the perished building right next to the apartment and see something horrifying...the dog was being burned ALIVE by the demonic bastards. What I assumed was a toy dog ended up being a homeless and abused dog which was thrown 20 feet out of a window, beaten up by children, and then burned to death. It was barking and screaming, and couldn't move due to it being heavily injured. It was rather traumatizing- it felt like something you would see in war. with peeling skin, a miserable animal, and a lot of anger, I couldn't do much but go back in and do something about it.
I ended up giving the kids I saw a major beating. As harsh as this sounds, I (along with a friend) definitely were upset about this- we did what we believed was the most reasonable thing and gave the caught kids a harsh lesson.
The next day, we go back out to see the dog burned alive. It's not exactly a happy moment to see an abused dog end its life by turning into a burnt crisp. Parts of its body was still there, but you honestly couldn't tell it was a dog.
We had to leave it there until a professional came to get rid of the body. I made sure the dog wouldn't just be buried by building remains or thrown into a garbage can. Due to the lack of such services, it took one week. Waking up and seeing that dog everyday was rather terrible, and it will always remind me of why humans aren't the only creatures who deserve rights.
tl:dr- dog was thrown out a window, beaten up, and burned alive. it was a terrible experience which shows an overlooked issue in the middle east- animal abuse.
