Im not saying thats definely happening, but there are strong signs that it may be not that dead.Yes, many companies re-release their games on Steam just to get an extra money, but this isnt just releasing on Steam. And its not just a simple port.Thats the whole point.

And I mean, ZTD did quite well for what the franchise usually does.If you use vgchartz numbers, and add numbers from both versions, it adds up to 210k.210k for a game that surely had limited supply, and that digital sales must have been really high, due to that limitation I just said, due to the Steam release in which many must have gotten through that, and that Europe didnt even receive a physical version.

Zero Escape is a masterpiece(the first two games are anyway).Cant you be a little more optimistic about it?

I can be optimistic about it. But for me a new game wouldn't be a good news. They ended that story, already with some difficulty, with ZTD. Creating a new story about that out of thin air would just look like lazy money-grabbing without any interest for the story. This story is over, I hope we won't dig it up and damage it just for money. Useless money sequels when something is over is the best way to damage the whole series.

Let's support Uchikoshi in his new project, and hope for him to turn the page successfully instead of staying stuck on something that is over.

The story is hardly over as there are several loose ends and ZTD ends on a cliffhanger(see my post I wrote about 10 posts before about it), so they could easily make one more to tie all loose ends, and if Uchi feels like it, could keep making new games in the franchise as a completely new story, completely unrelated to the first saga.Or make a spiritual successor after the fourth, that has the same feel and gameplay as Zero Escape.

But yeah, I hope that this project is a new IP, because thats always good to developers develop new ideas and to not stagnate. And if it ends up being a good game(It will be, Uchi is the director as far as I know), I will certainly buy it.Im a die-hard fan of his work.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
