BotW is a fantastic open world game for people who normally have problems with open world games
After leaving the Great Plateau I bypassed all enemies, even the easy ones, by climbing the mountains and using the paraglider. On my way I only stopped to activate two towers and to clear two more shrines. When I flew above two unexpected guardians in the highest of mountains (guardians are by far the most dangerous enemies I've encountered so far), I spotted a small herd of horses, landed there, tamed my first horse and rode to Karakiko village (where the horse decided to leave me before I could register it - if I was a wild horse I would have done the same). Tamed another one near the stable (I hadn't seen the Kakariko stable before as I came to the village over the mountains, not the normal way) and registered it. I think I only saw 5% of this game and already had more fun than with most other games. Get it, you won't regret it.
