I think we can agree but...

I can't think of one game developer that would ever wish nintendo becoming a 3rd party developer.

Why you may ask...

Well besides that fact that I know a few old and new people at these big devs (activision, oculus, valve, rockstar, etc)...Game developers enjoy a seperate nintendo environment.  Many game develops agree that nintendo is a go to for family/ kids game and lite coded games. If you want to target that audience boom you are there. But if they were to start to hit the PS4 or XB1 with next generation Marios, Zeldas, Donkey kong and Smash brothers...well crap you are talking sales in the tens of millions. It will add a whole new dimension of competition to the larger console market and game devs like that market where it is now. Mixing it all will just change how they will have to market their current games for that release period. Sure they have to do that now but think about this month.  You dont want to release horizon zero dawn on PS4 when an prettier copy zelda breath of the wild is being released on PS4 as well. Don't be misled Nintedo is a very capable game developing company if they were to become competitive it would cut a lot of profit margins for a lot of other companies.:)

That being said....yes nintedo should go 3rd party.
