It means 4 years between their first and second game. Since Shadow was released end of 2005 you can expect the next one for end of 2009, but the game will most likely be officially announced either at E3 or TGS this year, thus giving Sony time to hype it. |

Slight contradiction on info there - 3 years development vs the timeline of SotC that strongly suggests 4 years.
But that doesn't matter because by fall 2009 4 years have passed.
Okay, team ICO seems to have a policy to announce/hype their games late - judging by the 13 months last time. So late 2009 seems realistic, unless they have limited dev team resources split on two games rather than one.... But then there is the director's comment about streamlined development. =)
