Now that Zelda has gone Open World, will it ever go back?

I guess I'm confused.

It's interesting what people call "open world". Apparently, it means "giant map I can't immediately figure out". Honestly, it feels like a regular Zelda game, in a lot of respects, to me. The map is just bigger. And I guess...That means a lot to some people?
