You know, I've never played a Pokemon, Madden, Souls/Bloodborne game, or any number of franchises. They get good/great scores and I think, "Hmm... Not for me, but good for them." and I go on with my life.
There are games that I had played and thought they were crap despite their high scores, great despite scoring poorly, and everything in between. It's just a matter of taste and opinion. Like I said before, I can't stop playing Zelda and I can't remember the last hand that I've logged in so many hours despite having no free time.
I restarted FFXV twice and I'm still barely anywhere. I've barely gotten past the tutorial in Dead Rising 4. I played Horizon until I got the (I think it was called) Bow Caster weapon and quit that game. Meanwhile I'm Averaging six hours a day in Zelda--and I only installed the app on Monday. No idea how much I've played on Fri, Sat, and Sun!
If any game deserves these high marks, in my opinion, it's Breath of the Wild.
