Hows the difficulty compared to BB?

Starts way harder, get's easier, if you are good at it, gets considerably easier.
There are two REALLY challenging boss fights later in the game, but they are optional.
The bosses are usually not as frightening as on Bloodborne, but they are mostly really good fights, they are easier to approach as you have way more means than on Bloodborne, as this game has actual skills, different for each kind of weapon as well.

All in all, I'm used to beat Soulsborne bosses on my first try, if not I at least don't use to die a lot, and it happened on Nioh as well, but Nioh ended up being easier for me, maybe 'cause I'm just too good (lol), but I went head on with close combat instead of trying to exploit reach or magic, so yeah, I was actually good, dunno if it'll be harder for you or not, it's more open for individual difficult levels than on Soulsborne, but it is effectively a hard game.

It sounds like how I would play a Soulsbourne game. Have it hard during the beginning before adapting and running through it.
