Horizon was ahead on four retailer weekly charts. Tsutaya, COMG, Amazon and a fourth one I forget all showed it ahead, so people presumed that was a big enough sample.

It did very well regardless, wich is nice to see for a western IP in japan.

On an urelated note: Switch and Zelda did really well! :D

Ah okay! I guess there are other shops that played a bigger part.

People expected horizon to sell more than Zelda in japan? You are pushing a narrative that I fear only exists in your mind.

If anything, its actually shocking to see horizon doing more than 100k in its first week over there.

Look at the comment I quote from Supernova. At the COMG thread after those weekly retail charts released, apparently Horizon got more points than Zelda so lots of people said it outsold Zelda. But it looks like other retailers says otherwise.
