Conclusion:

The common belief that the Others region is growing fastly has yet to be proven correct. At the moment it is actually at the exact same % as it was last gen. The handheld market has here increased with about 80%.

Japan has dropped about 2%, but has grown more than 100% in the handheld market (and it hasn't even finished). The Japanese market isn't fading at all. It is increasing both in handheld and console, but far more in handheld.

America has gained about 2%, but that shouldn't be put to much weight on, as the handheld market is currently lower than it was last gen. Of course, this will change, but it is still the area in which the handheld market has had the lowest increase.

Concluding the conclusion:

All the markets are growing, but in different ways.

Others and America will show greatly increased console sales compared to 6th generation.

Japan will show slightly increased console sales compared to 6th generation.

America will see a big boost in handheld sales compared to 6th gen.

Others will see a huge boost in handheld sales compared to 6th gen.

Japan will see a humongous boost in handheld sales compared to 6th gen.

 

There is no proof here to believe that Others will overtake America as the largest market for consoles.
