Great to see Nintendo establish a strong relationship with these indies. I really think a lot of the guys are going to be the future of gaming, as the major AAA devs, particularly from the West, are competing in this self-defeating arms racing of skyrocketing development costs and shrinking user bases on other consoles creating projects that take years to complete. This model just doesn't seem sustainable, and I think Nintendo sees this, which is part of the reason they are focusing so much more on indies, as they should. The major 3rd parties used to hold all the cards in the industry, but I think this is starting to change. And personally, a lot of their stuff is overrated anyway.

Nintendo will probably never get major third party support from the big guys, but they certainly seem to be starting to get major indie support, and in this day and age, that seems to be gaining more traction and significance than simply landing the next Call of Duty or Madden game. Let the Sony's and MS's of the world take those, with maybe a few of the really big ones sprinkled in like Skyrim hitting the Switch, and I'll be fine with that (as would most Nintendo fans I think).

Of course, there will inevitably be a lot of garbage from the indie scene to sift through, but the good thing about shopping for indies on a Nintendo platorm is moreso than the like of Steam for instance, the quality control will likely help to weed out many of the duds and focus on bringing the quality to the platform. This way the average user won't be forced to sift through thousands of crap to locate the 10-20% or great titles. It'll be like the NES and its limits put on third party releases to ensure quality all over again.
