Really? How fast does it charge? Can you play and charge at the same time?

I was hesitant using a standart USB-charger because of the Switches 15V/2.6A specification. Powerbanks at 5V don't seem to really play nice with it either, so I thought I'd have to buy the official one. If c-cable + standart charger work, that's great news!

I was playing while plugged into my Google Pixel's USB C charger, and my system was at about 25% I think when I started on the charger. A couple of hours later when I was finished and was walking to put it back on the dock, I looked up at my battery and it was at 99%. So yes, you can charge much faster than you can drain, it's awesome!

Thanks for confirming! That sounds about as fast of a charge as the official charger provides, so that's awesome. I'll try it out for myself now.

I initially completel ignores the console side of it and didn't even hook up the dock. I used my wiiU as a big ol' handheld as well most of the time. I just love handheld gaming and the Switch is perfect for it.

I'm surprised by how much I like it as a console though. Zelda look gogeous on the big screen and the puppydog grip is surprisingly compfy.

The only drawback I can think of, is that I'm going to have to buy a second power adapter for charging in Handheld mode for long play sessions in bed.

I use my phone charger that use USB C and it is lovely, I barely use the dock with the Nintendo charger to charge it

(Switch friend code SW-4384-8283-7514 add me, and if you plan on getting nba 2k18 for Switch make sure you definitely add me)

Thanks for confiming that it works!

My phone charger says 1.6A and my power bank says 5V.

I'm no electricianographer but I've been playing my Switch all day, at work (don't ask) and everything seems fine. I even charged while playing. I still have five hours before I go home. I'm going to let the Switch run dry and use the Power bank to see how that works. It claims to have some kind of smart charge technology.

Anker PowerCore 20100 - Ultra High Capacity Power Bank with 4.8A Output, PowerIQ Technology for iPhone, iPad and Samsung Galaxy and More (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X5RV14Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IjVVyb47V8SQY

Haha, ok I wont! I'm about to try it with my 2.4A charger now, also Anker. Thanks for the link, I love their producs and was going to look into a powerbank for my Switch anyways.

Let me know how the powerbank experiment went!
