Is Breath of the Wild really that good?

The game is too good. I turned the Switch off at 4:30 am. My kids have been taking turns since 6:30 am. I got some time in at noon, then they started again. I'm wandering the Geruda desert, my 7 year old went to kariko village and got a horse, while my 5 year old is happy chopping down trees and cooking on the great plateau.
Yet the game is not for everyone. My wife only tried it for 10 minutes, thinks it's boring.
