Playing completely without sound does, yes. Since I can't turn off just the music I have to turn off everything so I can listen to other stuff. This is the first game ever that I had this problem. Probably because sound options are in every game but Nintendo decided for me that I apparently don't need it.

It might dampen my enjoyment even more than the constant 20fps and blurry visuals. Since this is a nice mindless open world game that is perfect for listening to streams while roaming around.

With basically every other game I would have been with you, but BOTW doesn't even have much of a soundtrack to speak off. There's barely ever any music playing and if it is it is mostly soft single piano keys. Most of the game is just environmental sounds anyways.

Should there have been an option there? Yeah, absolutely. Is it something to get your panties in a twist about, when you actually look at the context of the game we're talking about? No.

Heck I play Splatoon with full sound and still manage to listen to steams just fine.

It doesn't have very much music but when it does it interferes with what I'm listening to. The context of the game for me is that it is an expansive open world game. Basically the only kind of games I play these days. Because I can relax, have a stream or my youtube queue in the background and just roam around. For example I've been running around the woods for like 3h now without even being close to any town.

It should be very annoying to anyone because it's a feature that obviously has been left out on purpose. I can't believe that in the whole development cycle no one in the entire team brought up that you could have an audio slider in there. It's an audacity actually considering how little work it would be to implement. So far the game is not different from any other open world game I've played in recent years but it's the only one that puposefully leaves out such an important detail for these kind of games.

It's easy for people to laugh at this and shrug it off but if you think about the possible reasons why in the world any developer would leave it out it makes you all the more furious. I mean it's not the only small detail that Nintendo omits in its games and consoles and the shit is piling up.
