I'd probably buy a Switch bundled with Mario Odyssey for £149-179 but can imagine that is probably 1-2 years away. Hopefully it would be a revised smaller model with longer battery runtime. Not very impressed with the initial version of the Switch and would rather get a different model. Switch seems more like the Nintendo DS but I want a Switch version of DS lite.

Still Mario Odyssey is the only game I strongly want on Switch. I'm not interested in wii u ports, don't like splatoon and arms and xenoblade are games I would buy only heavily discounted.

Switch for 200 with a game probably won't happen for a while :/

I get that it isn't a beefy console. However, the mere size of it in comparison to the ps4 and xbox one is ridiculous  (especially to the original XB1). If the thing simply released in a simple box, I could easily see it hitting such a low price (or hit 299 with better specs).

Unless they release a 2ds-like version, I think it'll go to perhaps 250 next year

Well Nintendo can keep the premium pricing for console, games and accessories which may work or may result in low sales or if sales are very low become more price competitive. I think in Europe the Switch will struggle badly and that often means its gets removed from retail shelves making the product even more niche if it becomes an online store product only or it sits in the middle ground where shops give it minimal space at the back mostly out of view.

We will get a picture soon on how the Switch has performed. I can't remember how the wii u launch was in Europe I think it was ok rather than good and this might be the same with Switch so it's really now how it sells post launch. The wii u had the huge advantage of being launched before Christmas though and post Christmas it just died. It certainly doesn't seem like a wii type success at this point but something around wii u level in Europe.

The good thing about Europe is perhaps a country where the console does horrifically badly may cause retailers to dump stock at a loss and I shall look for a bargain there in a few months. However if such retail dumping is widespread then it may not be wise to buy one at all.
