Unfortunately I too am a switch owner so I can call bullshit on that.
Here's the tiny gap either side *AFTER* installing foam strips along the outside to keep the console away from them - its a tight fit, the foam pushes the dock gap wider so without the foam the plastic tabs gap would be even smaller.
