I can see plenty of kids accidentally doing something like this... and being left without a joycon, if their unlucky.

And yes its possible to put it on upside down, and thus it becomes stuck and might break your joy-con. |
This I can agree is a problem as it's something even older people can run into, my sister did with hers earliar today when I visited, they can be removed but require some effort while you have to hold down the lock latch on the strap.
