i guess the extra 15 months of development time payed off. in all honesty Ive remained mostly blind to the game. ive seen at the most 15 minutes of actual gameplay on top of all official trailers, so i know very little about it. the mechanics and art style seem like they all work very well though. Nintendo has stated they have been trying to get Zelda to work as an open world game for years and it seems like now they finally did it. and while I am not getting the Switch day 1, and I am not even the biggest Zelda fan, i do hope to try out the game at some point.
that being said, gamers dont usually follow the standard "quality over quantity" rule. Breath of the Wild will help the Switch sell great upon release but once the initial wave passes by, sales are going to slow due to the small amount of games becoming available, although it is growing seemingly every day.
