I'm glad you brought this up. I'm getting tired of all the empty claims too.

Actually they aren't really empty. The TC fails to accept the fact that in the PS3 in Others since the arrival of GT5:p has had a long lasting 20k+ increase in sales per week.

He says no game(s) has shown a long lasting effect, yet he is wrong. A larger library of high quality games will only increase sales more.

Then consider the price of the console compared to the competition.

For all we know, in a few weeks the TC could beating some MAJOR crow.

1. My thread was about WW sales, not 1 territory. WW PS3 sales have actually declined since the beginning of the year.

2. My point has been focused on dramatic changes. Not  <10k per week, that has also been on decline since GT5P released. Look at the chart. PS3 went from an average of 73k to 125kat launch down quickly to 82k 2weeks later to another big launch game and peaking at 182k and now 80k again. At best that's a 7k change. But, it has only been 2 weeks. I bet in another 4 weeks we will be back to the low 70's, i.e. normal.

So, I was not wrong. But, your bolded part is the whole point of my thread. ONE game will not show a lasting affect. But, like in 2007 a slew of changes and games can.

I will not be eating crow come Jan 2009 when the PS3 is still behind WW figure of the 360 and as 2008 moves on we will see no major shift in PS3's sales throughput compared to this year.

I beg any of you to save this post until June 2009.

Right now PS3 cannot break the 200k WW average. If one month (week of July 19th)  after MGS4 releases the PS3 has a sustained WW average greater than 200k I will eat crow.
