Here's my issue a lot of people don't seem to fucking get through their thick skulls. If Gamestop goes anyway, a lot of communities will not have access to games. At least not easy access. For example, I had an ex who lived near the middle of nowhere in California. There wasn't a big city within 2hrs of where she lived. Sure, there was a Walmart (neighborhood Walmart, btw people), and a few groceries stores here and there. But the only game store within 2hrs of where she lived, was GameStop. She was remote enough that she actually didn't get mail at her house, it was delivered elsewhere due to wherever the hell it was she lived in the desert. So even if she wanted to order online she'd have to go an hour out of her area to her aunt's to get her mail so for some people, GameStop IS important. Not everyone has free access to 10 local mom&pop game stores

Isn't another option for her downloading her games?

If she has a data cap playing games will be a hassle anyway due to practically every game having massive day one patches and gbs of patches throughout.

She has internet but it's shit. And to work around the updates she brings a USB stick to her aunts house to download the updates with that and then put it on the game later (honestly Idk how people do this so I dont even know how to describe it). But yeah, I remember once she tried downloading a Miku Demo for the PS3 at her house and it took her internet 72hrs to finally download a fucking demo XD I remember that being hilariously sad. I'm sure you could find the size of that demo somewhere if you were interested in how small that was compared to the time it took.

But she was mostly a person who played GC, 3DS, Wii, and Wii U games. So for updates she was ok most of the time except for the occassional Wii U game update
