that IGN reviewer is negative as fuck, he acts as if just because you can't play Breath of the Wild in portable mode for over 3 hours makes it fail as portable, and also whines about it (essentially) not being able to fit in a pocket. Get a carrying case and stop being so negative IGN! for gods sake people constantly use tablets and I've never heard of a tablet getting a bad review because its, uh, too big to put in a pocket
also the whole CONCEPT is that its a hybrid, that its both worlds rather than prioritizing one over the other. The IGN review seems to indicate that if a system wants to do a balanced home/handheld thing that it will basically fail in their eyes simply because A) its not small enough for what they consider a good portable size, and B) because its not as powerful as the competition in home console mode
what a joke
his biggest complaints are literally things that are the DRAW of the system. There would be no way at $300 to release a hybrid handheld/home console that mastered both ends in terms of great battery life and gigantic power, the two contradict each other, at least this point in available affordable portable technology
there is a reason Apple isn't releasing some Game tablet that will play PS4 games- because its not an easy thing to achieve without killing a lot of other things regarding a tablet (beyond even just battery life).
Lame early review, the Switch doesn't seem like its for the guy who's reviewing it, and in fact it seems like he is somewhat against this hybrid 'non hardcore home console' idea. Would have rathered they had someone more balanced review the system, you don't put a guy on it who wants PS4 level specs and/or doesn't grasp the appeal of a tablet larger screen for on the go
already preordered for pickup tomorrow night but still, I would take this review with a grain of salt people who are considering the system. IGN seems much more negative in their review than other game outlets and it appears the reviewer possibly just doesn't like the concept of the hybrid
When a critic is spending an entire paragraph to complain that he can't flip the console horizontally on his shelf, as if that's some giant deal, then you know that there's some sort of negative agenda there
