Yeah, I think it is pretty histarical seeing people think that the current consoles are fine, and we don't need much more RAM. The only reason we don't see more is because SSD is not the standard, and the consoles are so limited. I can't see PS5 having less than 32GB if it comes out in 2019, and much more if it arrives later. I think realisticly we will see a 16GB 4K PS4 model in 2019, and a PS5 with at least 64GB of RAM in 2024. Once consoles make their next leap, and SSD is the standard, I have no doubt, 64GB and 128GB PCs will be a normal thing in the mid range space. By 2020 high end GPUs will have 20GB at the least.

We are always going to need more and faster memory, and storage. We will always need faster/more powerful CPU's and GPU's. The only end is when we can not possibly make things any faster, but that is not going to happen for a long long time.

Playing Horizon on a standard ps4 and I can see why most people think 8gb is enough.  And it looks much better on a Pro which is crazy to think.

I'd not be willing to shell out hundreds of $ more to make an already beautiful title look or run a bit better.

That is why on the console side, I think they should keep the PS4 tech around for one more revision, and let those that want PS4 games in true 4K and 60fps have it. Then unleash the PS5 later, and have a massive leap which will get people excited about the future again. If PS5 comes in 2019 with 16GB of RAM, and Zen + Vega level chips, no one will be lown away, and only the deep core gamers will buy into it.

After 10 hours of Horizan I actually have exactly the opposite feeling though. I see all the haze down in the valley, or in the distant landscape, and think we need more RAM. I am playing on a PS4 Pro and Z9D, and I still ee massive room for improvement.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
