The reviewer is not saying the console is going to "fail". You are adding that agenda on your own. 

Plenty of mixed reviewed products go on to be successful anyway.

Who was saying tablets were going to fail anyway? And you can't criticize a tablet's functionality because it's successful? Says who? 

You are losing my point again, I'm talking about a similar lack of vision, not about wether he said is gonna fail or not, in both cases some people looked it from a narrowminded pov in which they only see what the thing lacks when compared directly with a different kind of device already stablished, and yes, at least as far as I remember tablets were received pretty badly at first, its gigantic success was a surprise for many, in this case IGN review seems to be more of an exception though.
