OK, so it does seem like he slots it in correctly. Hopefully the notch is metal and not plastic, because people like them will surelly wear it down by pushing the joycons off. He does need to exert some force into the tablet for it to slide, so I cant see this slidding off while holding it.

Jejeje, just thought of a better design locations. Have the joycons slide from the bottom and the usb-c contact at the top. In handheld mode the tablet is physically impossible slide off while playing  and to dock it it is done upside down. Plus when the console is in tablet mode, you can charge the console. Switch V2.0 here!

^ this.

It would be better if the console slid off of the joy-cons upwards, instead of releaseing and going downwards.
It would remove the risk of one day the tablet part, just drops out of the joycons your holding because of a worn down Notch.

Yep.  And if you move the USB-C to the top, you can just put the tablet in the dock upside down.  A little awkward, maybe, but much better than risking it falling off the Joycons.  Also, they could have made a better lock for the Joycons.  If you look at the pics, all that's holding it in is a small piece of plastic next to the buttons used to unlock them.  They just look small and cheap.  Probably wouldn't take long for them to wear out.  They really should have been metal, with maybe two on each side, instead of one.  Again, it would take a little bit more effort to take them off, but much better than risking them falling off.

Edit: Here's a larger pic.
