Furthermore, the point of the thread was not to single out people, but to single out the ridicules idea that MGS4 will make a drastic, permanent change in PS3 sales.

Euhm okay :). But the sales of the PS3 has already changed the last year dramatically. Search how much the PS3 sold like a year ago and how much it sells now;.

I searched it for you.

One year ago the PS3 sold weekly around 60K.

Now we see weekly sales of 150k...

I believe in my original post I said it had large change from last year. I also said that was not do to a single game, but that it was due to a combination of many things.

I also said it will not see anywhere near that same change next year as it is not having the same combination of changes in 2008 as it did in 2007 and MGS4 will not drive those up like some people claim.

yet again, I must ask... what did "some people claim" and who are those people

Most importantly, where are their actual wording.

Exactly.  A Sony fanboy (like Leo-J, RO2008, hus, or Crazzy) says some ridiculous claim, and then about ten times as many Wii fanboys try to find a way to say that the PS3 is doomed.  It's crazy around here.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
