As has been stated before, the PS3 doesn't need a savior. It's still selling faster than the Xbox 360 in a much shorter period of time and such momentum will continue into next year, a year with a much stronger library than this one. Only a fool at this point would fail to realize the big picture and that not every company, especially one selling a system as costly as it is, will have Wii success.
At this point all we can do is guess. MGS4 could be a monster of a system-seller or it could just simply sell well. Absolutely it will not be a flop, though seeing as this game is being more hyped and pushed harder than its predecessors, I'd say the safe bet is on this game being the most successful of the series (long-term as the current install-base isn't large enough to make it overnight).
