No, it's not. The Dualshock 4 uses bluetooth and I can play it from behind my kitchen bench or with my knees blocking it when sitting on the couch.

It looks to me like a bluetooth problem that could solving by intensifying the signal

Probably this is rare with DS4 but you can find there many people that seems to have bluetooth issues too, so it does seems like a bluetooth issue, but I don't really know.
