While I can see that being a potential problem, I don't think it's likely for someone to only have access to authentication-only WiFi. Also, worst-case scenario, you can just use a USB-to-Ethernet cable and update it via TV Mode.

That's most likely the final solution, but seriously this is a really bad oversight. I guess everyone is finally adopting that day1 patch nowdays
