I don't think it makes much sense to wait a whole extra year. I've heard they're going to launch it as a next gen console will full backwards compatibility. But, regardless, there is only so much they can do in the price range. PC users are always going to go beyond, if they have the budget.
But, how much could a new xbox improve in a year's time? I don't think most console users would care. Most have enough trouble telling the difference between a PS4 and a PS4 Pro, and waiting that extra year probably wouldn't give them even that much more performance gains.
Even I have trouble telling the difference. Especially when things are in motion. But, who's REALLY going to sit around, and stop to look at things while they're playing a game? In regular play sessions, you don't stop to compare how your game looks to another device.
They'll release it. As they should. If you want better, PC is there for you.
