Now if we assume that France will make up a similar chunk of the Switch market... that would mean to reach 0.8m in France this year it would sell 11.7m this year Globally.

Switch First Year: 11.7m

3DS First Year: 11.4m

It's not as crazy as I expected, France does make up a fair amount of Nintendo's market.

Nice post! As you said once it's broken down like you have done it is quite a reasonable prediction as when I read the thread title I though na that's to much to ask for sure, but I think 9-10m WW is more likely for thw Switch but with a Pokemon holiday release or if it just really catches momentum 11-12m isn't out of the window.
