Democracy is associated with a high level of free speech. One of the biggest threats in Western society today is the attack against free speech.
With Milo now all hell breaks lose because people misinterpret him on purpose because of something he said.
It's a huge democracy problem. Certain opposing opinions are heavily oppressed, often enacted by widescale media witch hunts.
I don't imagine for a second that these people care about what he actually said or about victims of pedophilia in this context. They just see Milo, being an extremely charismatic person, as a huge threat and they use this only to hurt his career.
